Prayer to Deal with What is Behind your Name

“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coasts, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested, “(1 Chronicles 4:9–10).

“As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram , but thy name shall be called Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee, “( Genesis 17:4–6).

Names are very significant. The names you bear, whether the ones given to you or your family names, can affect your life positively or negatively.

Your name is your social and spiritual identity. Every name carries a positive or a negative anointing. The anointing on your name is triggered off each time that name calls you. Behind each name, a spirit or demon is enforcing the covenant behind it. Keeping watch over the seal on your name so that it may not be broken or tampered with. Your name goes a long way in determining your destiny. Names that glorify satanic deities, idol worship, and devilish tradition provoke God and bring His wrath on the bearer. People give names according to their beliefs and practices.

Names are an expression of our faith. When one is named after the Lord, it is like putting a stamp of God on the child. In the same way, when you are given names associated with the family or community idols. Therefore, you are attached to the spirits of these idols, and no evil spirit has a good plan for its patrons and their generations. Find out the meaning of your names and as a piece of advice, change immediately any name glorifying an idol or the devil. Renounce the spirits behind the name, and revoke all the demonic covenants attached to these names.

What To Do?

Find out the meaning of those names and why the names were given.

Anoint your forehead and navel as you break off the power behind your former names. (navel — entry point in the Spirit for generational demons)

Read and study these scriptures:-

• Exodus 23: 13;
• Deuteronomy 7:25–26;
• 1 Chronicles. 4: 9–10;
• Genesis. 17: 5–6;
• Genesis 32: 24–30;
• Psalm. 16:4;
• Joshua. 23: 7;
• Isaiah 62:2

Take some time in prayer and fasting for at least three days.

Be attentive to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Fear nothing. Be bold and deal with any evil power that may arise to challenge or confront you. Cast it out in Jesus’s Name.

Start your session with thanksgiving end it with a high note of praises. (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Prayer Points

1. My Lord God Almighty, I thank You for You have made me Your child. I am named after You.
2. Lord, I repent before you for my long-term ignorance about the effects of the name I bear.
3. Father, forgive me for indirectly provoking You by bearing idol names.
4. I confess and acknowledge that You are my Maker, Healer, Blesser, Protector, Deliverer, Supplier, Defender, Redeemer and Strengthener. No idol or God can do all these for me. It’s only You.
5. Right now, I immerse myself and my destiny in the Blood of Jesus to be purged of every idolatrous contaminations and defilement that have come on me because of my name (s)
6. My life and destiny receive a complete cleansing right now in Jesus’s Name.
7. In the Name of Jesus, I break the demonic seals over my name, and I bind and rebuke the sealing demons assigned to keep any demonic structures in place over my life.
8. From now, I renounce all the idolatrous names attached to my family and me.
9. I renounce all the idols attached to these names.
10. I break every covenant behind my name right now in Jesus’s name.
11. I cast out every evil Spirit enforcing the covenant behind my Name in Jesus Name.
12. In the spirit realm, I cancel all the ancestral covenants attached to the name…………………. (mention the name).
13. I have no dealing with you Spirit of ……………….. (mention the idol).
14. All you spirits behind this name, get out of my life, in the Name of Jesus.
15. I refuse to be under your control and influence any longer.
16. I place you evil Spirit under the Feet of the Lord Jesus Christ according to Psalm 110:1.
17. As I nullify the power of these evil names, I take on a new name ………………..(mention it and prophesy on it).
18. As of now, my name is attached to God, success and prosperity in the Lord’s Kingdom, and it shall be well with me in the Name of Jesus.
19. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit consume any seal, stamp or label of evil that was attached to my former name marking me in the Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ!
20. I now receive the seal of the Holy Spirit upon me in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
21. I receive the mark and seal of the blood of Jesus over my name now and forever in Jesus’s Name.
22. My name I place it under the new covenant of the blood of Jesus.
23. The Holy Spirit of God is now the Spirit operating on my names from today henceforth.
24. What I could not access in my life because of the evil names I have been bearing, I receive it now because of the new and sanctified name I have received.
25. What I could not receive, because of the evil name I have been bearing, I receive it now in Jesus’s name.
26. I am blessed by the Lord, and the blessings of God fall upon me now.
27. Thank you, Lord, for the new name.
28. Thank you, Lord, for sanctifying my name.
29. I am no longer under a curse, but I am under blessings from now henceforth in Jesus’s Name.
30. End this session with thanksgiving and praises for what God has done to your life and Name in Jesus Name. Amen.
31. Remember to crown your prayers with an offering ( Isaiah 58:6–8).
