Spiritual Leadership & Leader By Ralph Dartey

  1. The spiritual leader must embrace “humility and many tears” as vital ministry companions.
  2. The spiritual leader must endure hardship, tests, and trials as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
  3. Spiritual leadership requires boldness to tell those under your care what they need to hear publicly and privately.
  4. A spiritual leader will give an account of the people under your care to God.
  5. A spiritual leader should stick to the word and deliver it faithfully.
  6. A spiritual leader must understand that some people are with you for a season, others for a reason, and some are with you for a lifetime. Be careful to fully discharge your duties towards each of them accordingly. Know when to embrace and when to say goodbye.
  7. Spiritual leader, please understand that you hold men’s “blood” in your hands.
  8. The spiritual leader must never shrink back from speaking the whole counsel of God to those he is leading.
  9. Your duty as a leader is to speak the whole counsel of God.
  10. Lead and guide people in the paths of God so that their blood will not be on your hand.
  11. The spiritual leader is admonished to first guard and take care of himself and then do the same for the entire flock.
  12. The leader cannot do for the flock that which he has not done for himself. He also should not keep from the flock what he does for himself.
  13. The spiritual leader is appointed, anointed, and positioned by the Holy Spirit to lead the flock.
  14. The shepherd that the Lord gives the church is to feed the flock of God with knowledge and with understanding.
  15. The spiritual leader must be mindful that the church was bought at a very high price, the blood of Jesus Christ.
  16. Acts 20:29 Paul says that as a shepherd of the flock, he protected the flock from dangers within and without.
  17. Ask and thank God for the protective covering of the shepherd: they keep the wolves away.
  18. Spiritual leader, your presence in the lives of the flock supernaturally provides a covering and protection from wolves.
  19. He entrusts, hides, commits and submits the flock to God. The Creator of the flock is also its best keeper. Spiritual leader, the safest place to hide the flock from all demonic and wicked attacks is under the shadow of the Almighty.
  20. A leader stands in the gap of their flock.
  21. As spiritual leaders, one of our primary responsibilities is to lift prayers on behalf of the flock daily.
  22. Spiritual leader, entrust your people into God’s hands in prayer.
  23. A commitment to the Word is a commitment to God, attention to the Word is attention to God, and love for the Word is love for God.
  24. Spiritual leadership has no room for laziness.
  25. The spiritual leader must be a selfless, hilarious, and generous giver of his time, talent and treasure.
  26. The leader who discovers the secret of bended knees before the throne of grace has tapped into heaven’s power.
  27. Show me a leader who has discovered the secret of bended knees before the Lord, and I will show you a real, spiritual leader.
  28. As we can learn from Paul, being a leader is about accountability, brokenness, prayer, the Word, responsibility, commitment, love, obedience, submission, humility, faithfulness, care, determination, alertness, discipline, and total dependence on God.
