The Reality And Necessity Of Spiritual Warfare

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”. (Ephesians 6:12).

God’s army has no fair-weather soldiers. All must endure difficulty (2 Timothy 2:3–4). Your courage must be tried and proven. God’s ships never sail out to sea without being tested (James 1:2–7), and only when their seaworthiness is proven do they embark on long voyages. Unless you have been through an intense trial (Acts 14:22), you cannot help those in severe difficulties.

If you were placed in a glass case, you would not develop. If you were never injured, there would be no grace for forgiveness. Without suffering, you lack patience. You grow in grace only when the stormy winds of trials blow. It is through harsh experiences that believers grow “strong in the Lord and the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10). Christians, when Satan tests and tries you, hold the world loose but firmly grip God’s invisible things (2 Corinthians 4:18; 5:7).

God might use you to scatter His seed with a hand that was never wounded. However, He will not use you to minister to the broken-hearted until your trials make you tender and sensitive. Your present and painful experience is a necessary preparation for something that will give you tenfold joy. If you are not tested, you cannot be victorious.

The rule of the kingdom is: no battle, no crown; no conflict, no conquest. You can win over sin and shame: Look only to Jesus. There’s power in His name. The devil can’t harm you nor sin; By trusting in the Savior, you will win. Satan’s ploys are no match for the Savior’s power.
