Walking in a Renewed Mind

Romans 12:2 — And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God.

A renewed mind is one saturated with and controlled by the Word of God. It occurs only as the Holy Spirit changes our thinking through consistent study and meditation of scriptures.

We are all spiritually focused and determined to inherit the kingdom of God. At times, we struggle to walk and work out our salvation in fear and trembling every dawn. Have you ever thought about hell? The place of torment, everlasting fire, and burnings, the lake of fire? I know it doesn’t cross our minds. After all, we are all destined and focused on heaven, a heavenly country, paradise, our eternal home because our renewed minds remind us that we are citizens of heaven. We are custodians and stewards of what the Lord inserted in us of which, at the last day, we shall be accountable. That should always be in our minds.

The mind is always the battlefield of the devil, and he will always capitalize on it as long as he finds a loophole and the word deficiency syndrome. He hits and plants in our minds to block and hinder us from thinking about and setting our minds on the things above (heavenly).

A renewed mind will always determine our spiritual maturity, as a man thinketh so he is. Heavenly thoughts can only come when having a clear understanding of heavenly realities from the scriptures. While we are still here on earth, let’s not ignore that heaven and hell are real, and they do exist. For us to enjoy the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God, we must have a renewed mind. Let’s not allow the devil and his cohorts to toss with our minds to and fro but be firm, immovable, and focused on what the Lord wants. Feed your mind on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. A renewed mind focuses on the things above that are permanent, not on things on earth that are temporal. The renewed mind sees the crown of glory, the crown of life, the crown of righteousness, the imperishable crown and entering into the joy of the Lord.

PONDER ON THIS — Where is your mind focus on? Are you ready for the renewal process? What do you feed your mind on? Who and what controls your mind?

PRAYER

Everlasting Father, we thank You for your living and powerful Word that has reminded us about renewing our minds and walking in a renewed mind. Lord Jesus, we yearn and desire to enter into the joy of your glory, and this is always our humble prayer as your stewards; heaven is our home. We admit our shortcomings in our minds, forgive us and cleanse our wicked thoughts. May you help us to walk in a renewed mind here on earth in Jesus’s precious name; we pray. Amen
